Inchelium Red garlic is a softneck garlic variety that originated on the Colville Indian Reservation in Washington. It's the oldest strain of garlic grown in North America. 

 

Inchelium Red garlic : 

  • A national taste-test winner in the softneck division
  • Mild-flavored and great baked
  • Adapts well to summer heat and grows well in the northern and southern states
  • Higher in soluble solids than other garlic varieties
  • Has four or five layers of cloves with 8 to 20 total cloves possible per bulb
  • Bulbs are about three inches (7.6 cm) across and contain 15 cloves on average
  • Unlike other types of softneck garlic, this one does not have tiny cloves at the center of the bulb
